A cold front sent temperatures plummeting to the lowest level in many parts of the nation on Monday, with the season's first subzero temperatures recorded by Japan’s Meteorological Agency. The mercury measured minus 1 in Sapporo and minus 1.3 in the city of Nagano at 10am.

The sophisticated weather models used by snow-forecast.com suggest the freezing level at Niseko will be as low as 50 metres above sea level tonight It also states the temperatures will be sub- zero for the next six days and there’s more fresh snow on the way.
