Best Quest franchise in only 18 months

Quest Serviced Apartments held the company’s gala awards dinner in Melbourne last Saturday evening, recognising the leading franchises and franchisees across the Australasian network.

Quest Geelong was presented the highest accolade, the 2012 Australian Franchise of the Year.

Quest Geelong Franchisees, Paul and Shirley Dodds, bought the business in July 2011. Their combined industry and franchising backgrounds were instrumental in the dramatic improvement in the performance of the business over this short period.

The Australian Franchise of the Year Award specifically recognised the fantastic guest service standards and financial performance as well as the franchisees excellent standing across the Quest network.

Each award’s criteria focused on growth in generation of yields, ability to maximise the potential of rooms on an ongoing basis and compliance to Quest’s core values such as generation of excellent relationships with each property’s diverse stakeholder network.

Other awards presented were:
o NSW Regional Franchise of the Year – Quest Mascot
o Victorian Regional Franchise of the Year – Quest Geelong
o West Australian Regional Franchise of the Year – Quest Bunbury
o Queensland Regional Franchise of the Year – Quest Mackay
o Tasmania/Northern Territory/South Australian Regional Franchise of the Year – Quest Palmerston
o Employee of the Year Front of House – Bianca Gray Quest Mackay
o Employee of the Year Back of House – Mark Brown Quest on Story Bridge
o Employee of the Year Corporate Office – Alexander Forbes
o Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Service – Karen Watson Quest Narre Warren and Quest Frankston
o South Pacific Franchise of the Year - Quest Suva

The evening also celebrated the success of Quest Serviced Apartments ongoing network expansion - there are now 150 properties across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

So far this financial year, Quest has opened properties in Bundoora, Whyalla and Sydney Olympic Park in Australia and Rotorua Central and Tauranga in New Zealand.

For the remainder of the 2012/13 financial year, the company will open properties in Adelaide, Frankston, Rockhampton and Wodonga in Australia and in Highbrook in New Zealand.
