Crown Perth is fostering the gift of giving this Christmas, supporting the annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal to help Western Australian children and families in need this festive season.
With over 5,600 staff at Crown Perth, the team supports the Appeal each year by making generous donations of gifts, toys, Christmas crackers and puddings, clothing and non-perishable food items, with a dedicated staff collection area for donations.
Santa will visit all areas and departments around the resort for a last round of collections this week, before the donations are collected on 21 December for distribution in time for Christmas Day.
In addition to the staff contribution, Crown Perth has donated a number of food hampers to the Appeal, packed full of Christmas goodies.
Crown Perth’s Chief Executive Officer, Barry Felstead said “the Vinnies Christmas Appeal is an important initiative on our community calendar at Crown Perth and every year the team displays great generosity and compassion towards Western Australians in need.
“Crown Perth is proud to work in partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society at Christmas time and all year round, and we very much admire their long-standing contribution to the local community which makes a real difference to those who need it most.”
St Vinnies are experiencing a hugely busy time over the Christmas period, and are inundated with requests for support from the WA community.
"Christmas 2012 for many in our community is going to be tough – Vinnies has been working overtime to support families in need this Christmas, with more calls for help than ever, but with the help of the community and organisations like Crown Perth we can ensure that the joy of Christmas will become a reality for the people we serve. For over five years Crown Perth and its staff has got behind the Vinnies Christmas Appeal, we greatly appreciate their support and thank the staff of Crown for going above and beyond to help others in their community” said Lucinda Ardagh, Media Spokesperson for the Society.
