Locals spending more in SA

South Australia’s tourism industry has welcomed a spike in domestic visitor expenditure, beating out the national growth over the past year.

According to statistics released by the latest National Visitor Survey statistics, the state saw a 7.4 percent domestic visitor expenditure growth while nationally there was a zero percent increase.

International visitor expenditure in South Australia also exceeded the national level with a jump of 4.7 percent compared to 3.9 percent for the rest of the country.

Visitor numbers to South Australia also spiked for the year compared to the previous period by 6.1 percent.
