The harbourside event that brings the travel industry together several times a year in Sydney has had to be postponed in May but is anticipated to return on 7 June with a China theme.

A non profit event that relies wholly on industry support, Thirsty Thursdays organisers had to make the tough decision to postpone the May event due to lack of sponsorship.

“We endeavour to put on the biggest and best networking events for the travel industry every month in cities around Australia and, whilst interest in other states has boomed, Sydney support has unfortunately waned of late,” Thirsty Thursdays event organiser Natalie Aroyan said.

“Venue sponsors in Sydney have abounded with fantastic properties including Bungalow 8, Helm Bar and Kit and Kaboodle clamouring to be involved because they see the promotional opportunity Thirsty Thursdays offers them that not many other avenues can.

“These events are one of the most affordable and cost effective ways to promote a business and we offer different levels of sponsorship for businesses both large and small specifically so that everyone can be involved.”

Limited sponsorship opportunities are available for events in Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Perth for the remainder of 2012 and businesses are encouraged to for further details.
