Ten bloggers from around the globe will join Australia’s number one blogger, Darren Rowse for Tourism Queensland’s ‘Queensland Blogger Correspondents’ promotion. Hailing from Canada, the US, Australia, Malaysia, Germany and the UK, the bloggers will spend five days in Queensland from 5-10 June this year, blogging to reaching an audience of over 2.5 million readers globally. The winners were chosen from among 767 applicants after Mr Rowse invited bloggers and global audiences to enter the competition by justifying why they would make the ideal ‘Queensland Blogger Correspondent. Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes said the response was incredible with bloggers from 53 different countries competing for a spot. Mr Hayes described Mr Rowse as an Aussie who is passionate about Queensland and keen to showcase the destination. “Darren is an influential social media wiz with an audience of more than five million readers for his blogs problogger.net and digital-photography-school.com,” Mr Hayes stated. After a lengthy decision process, Mr Rowse expressed his excitement about the upcoming trip, saying “the group we’ve assembled is going to learn a lot about blogging from one another while at the same time, be inspired by the iconic backdrops that make up Queensland.” While practicing blogging skills with Mr Rowse, the winners will have the chance to experience the destination by cuddling up to some of Tropical North Queensland’s native animals, tasting local cuisine, sail and snorkel the Reef, visit the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest and explore the Mossman River with an Indigenous guide. “Our aim is to show them our unmatched world-class tourism experiences and inspire them to promote Queensland to their expansive networks through their first-hand stories, photos and videos,” Mr Hayes said. “The combined global readership of the 10 bloggers is huge - that’s a lot of people who will get the message that Queensland is where Australia shines.” The 10 winning bloggers are: Visit problogger.net for more information about the ‘Queensland Blogger Correspondent’ competition. |
