The staff team at Burswood has once again supported the Anglicare WA Winter Appeal, helping to assist vulnerable families with emergency relief, warm blankets and food during the cold and wet Perth Winter. For the fourteenth year running, staff have demonstrated great community spirit, pooling together generous donations of food items, new clothing and blankets, towels, bedding and toiletries to support Western Australian children and families in need. The team has collected items since early June, and donations will be presented and collected by Anglicare on Tuesday, 3 July, to be directly distributed to emergency relief operations. The Centres’ experience very high demand during Winter and are placed under extra pressure to meet the need in our community. Burswood’s Chief Executive Officer Barry Felstead said that staff had shown fantastic support of the appeal once again. “As more and more Western Australian families are needing assistance and support, it is important that we contribute to our local community. Anglicare is one of our longest standing charity partners and we are proud to endorse their valuable and respected work,” said Mr Felstead. “With increasing utility costs having a devastating effect across the State, Anglicare WA’s services are stretched to the limit, with waiting lists for vital services. The fantastic support of Burswood Entertainment Complex and its staff over so many years is a testament to the Complex’s ongoing contribution to the community. We are proud to partner with Burswood on so many levels,” said Ian Craig, Executive General Manager of Fundraising & Social Enterprise at Anglicare WA. |
