The Gold Coast experienced the largest flight search increase in Queensland this year, with a growth of 111 percent year-on-year, according to Skyscanner.

The travel search site revealed learning to surf is most popular on its Gold Coast travel tips for keen adventurers.

Snapper Rocks was listed as the most popular surf spot on the coast, attracting international surfers even for the Quiksilver pro surfing tour each year.

Second on the list is a ‘volcanic’ walk through Burleigh National Park where ancient volcanic columns meet the sea.

Thrill seekers can take in third on the list, an adrenalin-fuelled tandem skydive over the beach where you can land on the beautiful Kirra Beach.
