Hotham Alpine Resort will help take breast cancer awareness to new heights this weekend by turning pink in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

This Saturday 1 September, the resort will host a Mini-Field of Women by planting a powerful display of hundreds of pink women silhouettes at the base of the summit – the highest ever Victorian alpine Field of Women.  If that’s not pink enough, Hotham will also be putting on a firework display, guest services staff will wear pink, a mini flare run with pink glowstix will be on Hotham’s Summit Run and ticket boxes will turn pink for the day.

Skiers and riders will be encouraged to help fly the pink flag by donning pink for the day, as well as digging into their jacket pockets to make a donation to BCNA or buy some Pink Lady merchandise to help BCNA support Australian women with breast cancer and their families.

The connection between Hotham and BCNA extends further than this weekend; each year, more than 14,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer which is approximately the same number of people that visited Hotham just last week. 

In addition, Hotham is close to the heart of Maxine Morand, BCNA CEO and breast cancer survivor.

“I love Hotham and have been visiting for over 25 years. It has been a special place to me, including where my husband John and I honeymooned, and where I spent some time resting and recovering after having surgery for breast cancer last year. I am absolutely thrilled that this weekend Hotham is helping BCNA to support Australian women and families diagnosed with breast cancer,” says Morand.
