Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Foletta as Trade and International Manager and Kate Wright (nee Strange) as New Zealand representative for the regional tourism body.

Jan will replace Gemma O’Brien who will be taking 12 months maternity leave.

Jan has extensive industry experience, most currently owning and operating her own representation company based in Sydney. Her clients have included Wild Bush Luxury - Bamarru Plains (NT), Sal Salis (WA), Lord Howe Island, Cape Lodge (WA), and The Manor House Boutique Hotel (NSW). With many years of experience, Jan joins SCDL with an enviable network of contacts and given her reputation and relationships is the perfect candidate to represent the Sunshine Coast over the next 12 months in the global marketplace.

New Zealand represents 30% of all International visitors to the Sunshine Coast. Following the inaugural season of direct flights between Auckland and the Sunshine Coast, SCDL wants to capitalise on further increases and has appointed Kate Wright (nee Strange) as a part-time in market representative to be based in Auckland.

Kate has a strong destination marketing background having worked for Tourism Australia, Destination NSW and Tourism New Zealand in the New Zealand market and joins SCDL with excellent tourism trade and media contacts.

CEO, Steve Cooper said “These exciting appointments will ensure the Sunshine Coast remains attractive and competitive in our key international markets. The positions will capitalise on the great work done to date to further deliver results, quantifiable by an increase in international visitation and visitor spend for Sunshine Coast tourism operators.

“Jan and Kate are both passionate about travel and tourism and have strong marketing and industry experience that will be an asset to the Sunshine Coast,” concluded Steve.
