People are looking for a “unique way” of celebrating events and hosting conferences, according to Orana Events director Simone Liu, who said the company’s water-based venue product is now focused on building its appeal to the MICE industry. Speaking at the inaugural Luxperience showcase in Sydney this week, Ms Liu said the company offered the events sector a “different” way of experiencing Sydney, with conferences, exhibitions and even brides and grooms celebrating various occasions in a “different” on-the-sea way. “Land-based venues have been done,” Ms Liu said. “We want to shift people away from land-based and onto Harbour venues… [and] show them the different and unique things we do.” A new organisation to Sydney, Orana Events is equipped up to 15 ships, Ms Liu said the company is armed to handle groups between two to 800 people. She added the product was “great” for both Sydney-siders and international guests. This week buyers and sellers part of the inaugural Luxperience showcase took a trip down the Sydney Harbour on board Orana Events’ The Blue Room. |
