Daydream Island Resort and Spa has appointed Ral Italiano as its new Director of Sales. Mr Italiano will work out of Daydream’s Brisbane sales office and brings over two decades of industry experience to the group having previously worked with a number of significant tourism and hospitality organisations. His employment background includes roles with Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Japan Airlines and American Express, while his most recent position was Group Director of Sales with Federal Group, one of Tasmania’s leading tourism and entertainment providers, whose properties include Freycinet Lodge, Cradle Mountain Lodge and Saffire Freycinet. He is replacing current Director of Sales Suzy Bohan who, after a highly successful period with Daydream over many years, is leaving Daydream shortly due to the impending birth of her first child. “My passion has always been to work within exceptional hospitality groups and there is no doubt that Daydream Island Resort and Spa in the beautiful Whitsundays is a world-class destination,” Mr Italiano said. “I am excited to join the team at Daydream and look forward to enhancing the experience for our guests through my work as head of the sales department. “Daydream is an exciting place that offers something for everyone, from action-packed family holidays to that well-deserved, relaxing getaway.” Mr Italiano’s focus will be on managing the sales and reservations departments, where he will oversee all markets including domestic and international groups, business plan development and operations, and key stakeholder relations. “Daydream Island Resort and Spa is pleased to announce Ral Italiano, an industry professional of significant expertise and knowledge, as its new Director of Sales,” resort CEO Phil Casey said. “Ral brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in sales roles over the last twenty years both here in Australia and abroad, and having someone of his calibre heading up our sales department is indeed a strong addition to the Daydream group.” The multi-award winning Daydream Island Resort and Spa is located in Queensland’s stunning Whitsunday Islands. It offers 296 rooms and suites, a world-class Rejuvenation Spa, over 20 free guest activities and a unique man Living Reef lagoon where guests can touch baby sharks and de-barbed stingrays. |
