Monday, 24 September 2012

Driving more travellers into the Sunshine state and onto the online booking platform, Tourism Queensland has launched a new campaign urging travellers to play ‘I Spy’ on up to 550 holiday deals available on Wotif.com.

Unveiled over the weekend, the campaign encourages Australians to ‘spy out’ as many of the 550 news deals available on the booking site as well as trigger memories of childhood holiday experiences.

“Tourism Queensland’s new campaign aims to create some nostalgia around this by encouraging Aussies to ‘I spy’ some fantastic Queensland holiday deals and create some great new holiday memories in the process,” Tourism Queensland acting chief executive Leanne Coddington said.

“We’ve partnered with top online booking agent Wotif.com and their tourism activities and experiences arm GoDo, which means these fantastic deals will reach a potential 1.8 million Wotif.com subscribers in Australia and New Zealand plus Tourism Queensland’s more than 450,000 e-newsletter subscribers.”

Running for up to two weeks to 8 October this year, Ms Coddington added the campaign would help drive more business into the region over the shoulder season and assist the region meet its goal of doubling overnight tourism expenditure by 2020.
