A new sleeping contraption has been released, aimed at aiding aircraft naps. Image: UpRight Sleeper

Plane seats are small and it’s a constant battle to find the appropriate pillow, garment or headrest suitable for a long stretch and although this new device may do the trick... it’s far from ‘appropriate’.

The UpRight Sleeper has - according to the product’s website - won awards in the US for its “revolutionary” design, which allows the user to adjust it to sleep while sitting up, according to news.com.au.

The sleeping aid is fitted with a back strap that is attached between the user's back and the aircraft seat.

The UpRight Sleeper claims to be adjustable, making it suitable for people with “smaller sized face and neck."

That middle seat isn’t looking so daunting after all?

Leave your thoughts on this strange contraption below.
