Alleged assault diverts Qantas flight

A Qantas flight, from Sydney to Japan, has been diverted to Cairns after a Perth man allegedly assaulted cabin crew yesterday.

The 34-year-old man is alleged to have been drunk and spat and abused cabin crew, before having to be restrained, according to The Courier-Mail.

The man was charged by the Australian Federal Police on Tuesday and will have to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court.
