Travelscene American Express Beats Fundraising Record, Thanks Members For Support

As Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea(ABMT) wraps up another successful year, Travelscene American Express has announced raising $21,475 for the cause – a record contribution for the network which has been a national corporate partner for the fundraising event for 3 years in a row. What’s more, Cancer Council has raised more than $12.3 million dollars – also a newrecord!

Travelscene American Express’ efforts wouldn’t havebeen possible without the contribution of its Members across the country.

David Padman said Members worked extraordinarily hard this year to join in with the local community and host events to raise money for ABMT, and thanks each and every one personally for making their cuppa count.

“I’m so pleased with the lengths that Travelscene American Express Members went to this year,” Mr Padman said.

“The benefits of participating in ABMT are enormous. Our primary motivation and involvement was to support Cancer Council and the very important work that it does in cancer research, prevention and support services for all Australians.”

“We support ABMT because it provides Members with away of giving back to their communities and it is also a great way for them to engage with our clients, friends, and the community as a whole for an extremely worthwhile cause.”

Travelscene American Express donated prizes for Members and their clients in the form of holidays, travel incentives and marketing support. $500 Travelscene gift cards were given as prizes for local customers in each state who went into a draw for making a gold coin donation in-store for ABMT.

This is the third year in a row Travelscene American Express has partnered with Cancer Council’s ABMT and, to date, Members across the country have collectively raised almost $60,000 over three years for the cause.

Cancer Council relies on the support of the community to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. With 1 in 2 Australians being diagnosed with cancer by age 85, Cancer Council’s work in reducing the impact of cancer forall Australians is vital. The survival rate for many common cancers has increased by 30 per cent in the past two decades, however the fight continues.
