Sydney Small Business Month takes flight

Wednesday, 15 August 2012

The NSW Government may have axed the very successful September Small Business Month initiative, but two Sydney business owners, Kate Tribe and Sean Grobbelaar, are making sure that small business doesn’t miss out.

Attracting over 20,000 business owners, SMEs, start-ups and micro businesses annually, September Small Business Month facilitated workshops and events where small business owners were given the opportunity to gain skills and network with the ultimate aim of growing their business.

Due to the NSW Government’s funding cuts, the sector which employs over two million people in Sydney alone, would have been left with no access to gain quality information at an affordable price.

Within 2 weeks Ms Tribe and Mr Grobbelaar have set up 40 workshops with leading speakers, a website and a following of excited small business owners on social media.

“Tickets sales have been amazing, which is a great sign. We are very excited to see small business owners grow in our new format,” Mr Grobbelaar said.

Tickets are priced at $20 per workshop or $199 for a 20 coupon pass to any one of the 40 workshops based in the Sydney CBD with topics including social media, SEO and sales training.
