Luxperience – Day 1

Tuesday, 11 September 2012

The inaugural Luxperience showcase official kicked off in Sydney yesterday, with up to 300 buyers from across the globe mingling and connecting with more than 100 international sellers.

Opening at the Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal, the three day event was designed to give luxury and experimental travel sellers the opportunity to connect with wholesalers specialising in the sector.

Luxperience chief executive Rosemarie Sama said at a press conference that the three to one buyer/seller ratio would enhance exhibitor and buyer opportunities by providing sellers with greater opportunity to showcase their products to buyers.

“Suppliers are going to be kept very busy and get their money’s worth,” Ms Sama explained.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday, the event’s head also told guests that as well as creating new connections in the industry, the showcase would build a new support system for the redefined and evolving luxury sector.

“It’s not travel for travel’s sake, but rather an incredible emotion that can be evoked through travel,” she said of the changing definition of luxury travel.
