Make a visit to the Outback twice as nice

Monday, 12 November 2012

Queensland’s Outback is a vast landscape filled with spectacular scenery and those wanting
to experience it can make their journey twice as nice with Queensland Rail Travel’s special
two-for-one First Class offer on board the Spirit of the Outback.

Until March next year, outback adventurers can pay for one full adult fare in a First Class
sleeper and a second person can travel with them for free.

This means two people can take in the stunning journey between Brisbane and Longreach
in a First Class twin sleeping berth for just $485 one way, which includes all meals, as well
as exclusive access to the restaurant and lounge cars.

Queensland Rail Travel Acting General Manager, Ian Abel, said the Spirit of the Outback is
a unique train journey through amazing landscapes.

“The Spirit of the Outback train travels 1325 kilometres and is the most relaxing way to take
in the amazing wildlife, colour changes and history of this vast, sunburnt land,” said Mr Abel.

“Longreach, where the journey ends, is full of Outback experiences including the Australian
Stockman’s Hall of Fame, the Qantas Founders Museum and the Outback Heritage Centre.
“The journey takes 24 hours, so there is plenty of time to take in the sights, relax in the
lounge car or enjoy a meal in the restaurant.”

Travelling alone? Queensland Rail Travel also has up to 30 per cent off single First Class
sleeping berths on the Spirit of the Outback with all meals included.

The two-for-one fares are available for sale between 29 October, 2012 and 10 March, 2013
for travel between 1 November, 2012 and 25 March, 2013 – conditions apply.

The fares are available for one way or return travel on the Spirit of the Outback and both
customers must be travelling together.
