Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) announces that Kevin O’Connor was appointed executive vice president and chief information officer (CIO) on November 1, 2012. O’Connor is a member of the CWT executive team and reports to Douglas Anderson, CWT president and chief executive officer. As companies are adapting to the new ways travellers use technology within business travel, information technology (IT) is becoming even more critical to driving the innovation cycle. With this in mind, CWT has consolidated its IT and product delivery teams under a dedicated leader to help companies further improve the value of their managed travel programs through innovative products and services. “Meeting and anticipating the needs of our customers is our key priority. Kevin’s appointment is about making sure that we continue to provide exceptional value and service to travellers and companies,” commented Anderson. O’Connor is a recognised global IT and technology leader. Joining CWT from NYSE Technologies where he was CIO, he has over 20 years’ experience in driving innovation and sustained business growth, mostly within global financial organisations. His experience includes Global Head of Equities IT for UBS, Global Head of Applied Technology for Deutsche Bank, and Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. He has managed strategic areas of technology, from application development and technology infrastructures to IT security and architecture. He has extensive experience in delivering and supporting mission-critical systems with high volume, high availability and high security criteria. O’Connor has a PhD in Computing from Imperial College London and is a Fellow of the British Computer Society. |
