The holiday season may be coming to an end but travellers are already planning their next vacation and according to a new study, the Asian nations will be among the most desired destinations in 2013. Although British Airways Facebook users selected New York, Australia and Hong Kong as the top destinations to visit in the New Year, the airline has compiled its own hotspots to hop to. A panel of experts using British Airways data listed Sri Lanka, Seoul in South Korea and Vietnam as three of the best travel options for 2013. “Undoubtedly consumers will continue to be driven by value-for-money next year, with routes such as Dubai, Cape Town and Bangkok already proving popular,” British Airways head of UK & Ireland sales Richard Tams said. “We’re also experiencing a real growth in Asia right now and responding to demand with a number of new routes, including Seoul and Sri Lanka.” Other destinations that made the airline’s list included popular favourites such as Las Vegas, Derry in Northern Ireland, Cape Town, San Diego in the United States, Croatia and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, as well as surprising inclusions Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Tbilisi in Georgia, Alicante in Spain and Dubai. |
