Park your plane. It’s cheaper than airport car parking

  Airport parking can be costly

Increasing parking fees at Australia’s major airports makes it more expensive to park your car than a plane, according to recent studies.

To park your car at Adelaide Airport short term parking will cost you $30 per day, whereas to park a private light plane would cost a fixed parking fee of $15.34, News.com reported.

Other airports like Brisbane, Perth and Darwin all charge from $20 - $50 per day to park your car.  Once again the cost if you flew in and parked a light aircraft would be less than that of the car parking fee.

Only when adding other airport fees does it make it more expensive to fly into these airports, but when comparing parking fees it is cheaper to take a plane.

Parking has become so costly it can in cases be more expensive than the cost of a return airfare on a domestic flight.

Although the ACCC monitors services provided by Australian airports, including parking, it cannot restrict them from increasing fees.
