Celebrated restaurateur and creator of CUT at Dorchester Collection’s one year old Mayfair hotel, 45 Park Lane, honoured during his inaugural year in Europe.

Wolfgang Puck received the coveted ‘Chef of the Year’ title in this year’s British GQ Men of The Year Awards 2012 held at The Royal Opera House in London last night.

These prestigious awards are extremely competitive honouring stand-out individuals for achievements across a broad spectrum such as fashion, politics, design, acting, music, comedy and cooking.

On receiving the prominent award, Wolfgang Puck said: “Last year at this time we had just opened 45 Park Lane opposite The Dorchester and I was cooking for Keith Richards when he picked up GQ’s Writer of the Year award for ‘Life’.  It’s great to be back one year later and such an honour to be given an award myself.
London has welcomed us warmly, and I’ve been thrilled to see the restaurant so busy.”

Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ, commented on the success of the evening and importance of the GQ Awards; “This year we celebrated bright young things and hardened hedonists shoulder to shoulder with politicians, rock stars, cinematic icons, Olympians, supermodels and natural born winners.  The original celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck is many of these things - and if he isn’t one of them, he has certainly cooked for them.”

Puck also is in London to officially launch 45 Park Lane’s new private dining concept within the hotel’s Media Room. The room comfortably seats 12 diners and can be booked for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with dishes from Wolfgang Puck’s modern American steak restaurant CUT. The technology available includes a state-of-the-art 103” Bang & Olufsen 3D BeoVision screen and a 6.1 BeoLab surround sound setup.
