When Queensland based Opera and Song Company, OPERATIF! present the 9th annual ‘Opera in Paradise’ Festival on Norfolk Island next year, they say it will feature the event’s ‘best ever’ cast of performers.
The ensemble of singers will include well-known international tenor, Bradley Daley, who has appeared in hundreds of the world's finest Opera Houses, Theatres and Concert venues.
Happily for the Festival, Bradley has always wished to visit Norfolk Island so he has squeezed the Festival into his busy schedule, just before heading back to the UK. Also performing are ever-popular founders of OPERATIF! soprano Jennifer Parish and baritone Stewart Cameron and completing the vocal line-up, New Zealand’s contribution to the festival, wonderful young mezzo-soprano, Elisha Fa’i-Hulton. The singers will be masterfully accompanied by renowned Scottish-born pianist John Woods.
“We are very proud of the cast of singers assembled,” said former Aucklander, Stewart Cameron, “and we haven’t even mentioned the instrumentalists yet!”
Separate concerts will be given by esteemed husband and wife concert pianists, Max Olding and Pamela Page. There is still more good news with the addition of brilliant Greek-born violinist Spiros Rantos and his Israeli-born wife, vivacious pianist Brachi Tilles.
“To enjoy a holiday on a small Pacific island, soaking up its beauty and fascinating history and then adding concerts of the calibre we are presenting, certainly is a unique experience,” added soprano Jennifer, “and one which guarantees many potent and happy memories.” Opera in Paradise enjoys many repeat clients and for some, it’s an annual pilgrimage.
Packaged within a 7-day holiday, with flights, accommodation and car included, the Festival is very easy to book. Prices from AUD $1,650 Twin Share with many accommodation options.
